Random Name Generator
Fantasy, sci-fi, cyberpunk, business. Up to 30 at once. Click any name to copy.
ABOUT THIS WIDGET
The Astryke Random Name Generator spits out original names in four themes: Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Cyberpunk, Business. Generate up to 30 at once, click any name to copy. Embed it in a writing blog, an RPG wiki, a worldbuilding site, or use it standalone on this page. No accounts, no signup, no ads inside the widget.
Why use this widget instead of the alternatives
- Free. Always. No paywalls, no upgrade nags, no time-limited trials.
- No ads inside the widget. Astryke runs analytics on its own site, but the iframe loads nothing extra.
- Click-to-copy on every name. Native clipboard, no third-party copy script.
- Themes that don't overlap. Fantasy names won't bleed into the cyberpunk pool. Pick a theme and the corpus reflects it.
- Mobile-friendly. The 540 by 600 layout scales responsively, taps work without delay.
- No accounts, no signup, no login. Anywhere. Ever.
What makes it useful
- Four themed corpora: ~50 first names and ~40 last names per theme.
- Generate 1 to 30 names at a time with the count picker.
- Click any name's Copy button to copy just that name, or Copy all to grab the batch as line-separated text.
- URL-baked configuration: ?theme=fantasy&count=15 persists into the embed iframe so every visitor sees the same setup.
- Right-click anywhere on the widget for a 'Made with Astryke' link back to the source.
Who uses this
RPG game masters. Need a tavern keeper name on the fly during session prep? Pick Fantasy, generate ten, drop one in. Cyberpunk for Shadowrun, Sci-Fi for Traveller or Mothership.
Worldbuilding writers. Bulk-generate a roster of side characters for a novel or campaign setting. Copy the whole batch and prune to taste in your notes app.
Game developers. Need stand-in NPC names for an indie game? Fantasy or Sci-Fi names that feel coherent are one click away. Use them as placeholder content while you build.
Naming brainstorms. Business mode produces clean ordinary names for stand-in scenarios, mock data, or 'persona' exercises.
Customize
Theme. Pick Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Cyberpunk, or Business. Each theme has its own first-name and last-name corpora; results stay coherent inside a theme.
Count. 1 to 30 names per Generate click. Default 10. Generate replaces the list; click again for a fresh batch.
URL parameters. ?theme=cyberpunk&count=20 — bake your defaults into the iframe src so visitors get the configuration you want.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Random Name Generator really free?
Yes, free. No account, no signup, no upgrade nag, no ads inside the widget.
How many names can I generate at once?
1 to 30 per click. Click Generate again for a fresh batch.
Will the same name come up twice in one batch?
No, each batch is de-duplicated internally before display.
Can I add my own custom themes?
Not yet in v1. The four built-in themes (Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Cyberpunk, Business) cover most common requests. Custom theme support is on the roadmap.
Can I use these names in a published novel / game / product?
Yes. The names are generated combinations of common name parts. They're not copyrighted by Astryke and you don't owe attribution — though we appreciate the right-click link if you embed the widget.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. The widget is responsive and the controls work with touch input. The list is scrollable inside the widget if it overflows.
Will my theme + count choice persist across page loads?
Yes, because they live in the iframe URL. Every refresh sees the same setup. No cookies, no localStorage.
Can I embed multiple generators with different themes on the same page?
Yes. Each iframe is independent. Drop a Fantasy generator next to a Cyberpunk one if you want — they don't interfere.
