Crop Forge is a free online video cropper. Drop in any video, pick the target aspect ratio (9:16 for Reels and Shorts, 1:1 for square, 4:5 for IG portrait, 16:9 for YouTube, 21:9 for cinema), drag the bright crop window to reframe what stays, render the new clip, download. The output keeps the source resolution along the kept axis.
Every social platform wants a different shape. Most free cropping tools either watermark the result, lock the position to dead-center, or upload your clip to a server to do something a canvas can do in a tab. Crop Forge does it in your browser, with a draggable window and clean output.

- 03Drag the bright window to reframe. The output keeps full source resolution along the matching axis.

- 05Click Render. Wall-clock time roughly equals source duration.
- 06Download. Files save as <source>-WxH.webm.
- WebM output uses your browser's native MediaRecorder. Codec is VP9 on Chrome and Edge, VP8 on Firefox.
- Output dimensions follow the source: a 1920 × 1080 clip cropped to 9 : 16 becomes 608 × 1080.
- Audio is included by default. Toggle it off if you plan to lay a clean track over the top.

What aspect ratios does it support?
9:16 for Reels, Shorts, and TikTok. 1:1 for square (Instagram feed, Twitter). 4:5 for Instagram portrait. 16:9 for YouTube and most landscape video. 21:9 for cinema and ultrawide.
Can I crop off-center?
Yes. The bright crop window is draggable. Move it left or right (for vertical crops on horizontal source) or up and down to pick exactly what stays.
What output resolution do I get?
The output keeps source resolution along the kept axis. A 1920×1080 clip cropped to 9:16 becomes 608×1080. A 1080×1920 portrait cropped to 16:9 becomes 1080×608.
Does it upload my video anywhere?
No. The clip stays in your browser tab. Cropping runs on a canvas, MediaRecorder writes the output, and you download it directly.
What input formats are supported?
Input: mp4, webm, mov, m4v, mkv. Output: pick MP4 or WebM in the Format toggle. MP4 (H.264) works on Safari, Chrome 122+, Edge. WebM (VP9 / VP8) works everywhere, including Firefox.
Can I crop to a custom aspect ratio?
Not yet. The five presets cover the common social and video formats. Custom aspect ratios are on the roadmap.
